Girly Girl Earrings

What supplies did you use to make the earrings?

As beads and lucite material are fashionable these days, I thought I would combine the two in one pair of earrings.

I combined two color shades, white and purple, to reach a multiple effect: these earrings can be worn casually or to dress up an outfit for a more sophisticated look.

What techniques did you use to make the earrings?

The technique is very simple. I took a knot- tie metal string and attached the beads onto it. I bent the end and hooked it onto the earring holder.

I chose a simple metal wire string that can be found in any jewelry supply store, and decided to keep its original size. I took the darker purple lucite bead, and attached it to the lower part of the future earring. They I continued with the main focus of the earring, the lucite flower bead and the white faux bead attached together. Lastly, I took the lighter purple bead and attached it to the string. Then I made the final step of bending the end of the string into a hook. I was careful not to bend the whole string, because it would have ruined the earring. Then I took the earring holders, and attached them to the hooked strings. I closed the hooks firmly, so that the earring holders don't fall off.

Tips and Tricks

  • Choose a long metal string to be able to attach as many beads as you want.

What do you think make these earrings so special?

These earrings are special because they are very simple, very easy to make and look good on every girly girl.
