What supplies and materials did you use?
Natural sea glass nuggets, sterling silver beads and swarovski crystals where used in designing this piece.
This was the first design I have used with so many colors brought together in one piece. It took several months to gather all of these pieces as they needed to be flawless in color and texture with no chips or blemishes.
What techniques did you use?
This sea glass bracelet was designed using beading wire brought together and crimped with a heavy weight sterling silver toggle clasp. The bracelet had to be taken apart several times in order to coordinate all the colors in a such a way that they did not clash with one another. After several attempts and rearranging the order, this is the final result.
Advice
- To be patient when creating a new design. It is okay to have to re-do it several times until you achieve the desired result.
- Sometimes it is best to walk away from a design for awhile and return with a cleared mind.
- Look at your piece in different lights. Especially with seaglass, it is amazing how colors can be perceived depending on the lighting.
Why do you think this bracelet has become a favorite?
All of our designs are one of a kind, however, this has to be my favorite due to the time it took to create this and the smile it brought to my face when it was completed. Was very pleased with the end result.
