Simple Loop aka Unwrapped Wire Loop

For years, I made earrings like the ones pictured above using needle-nosed pliers. This was before I discovered the huge difference it makes when you have the right tools for jewelry making. So, while round-nosed pliers aren't 100% required, as you can see from this picture, without them, it is very difficult to get nice rounded loops.
