Harlequin Wire, Onyx, Mother of Pearl, and Crystal Necklace

Tammy Powley
Nothing it more classic than the combination of black and white. Add some sterling silver wire to these beads, which are a mixture of mother-of-pearl, black onyx, and crystals, and the metal really makes this necklace pop. The finished length of this piece is a hair longer than 18 inches, but you can alter the length very easily by removing or adding more crystal beads on either end of it.

You will need the following materials and equipment:

6 - 8mm Black Aurora Borealis crystal beads
6 - 6mm Clear Aurora Borealis crystal beads
4 - 20mm Mother-of-pearl beads
3 - 20mm Side-drilled black onyx beads
3 - 4mm Bali-style sterling daisy spacer beads
6 - 5mm Sterling jump rings
About 3 feet of 22-gauge round sterling wire
Jewelers' file
Round-nosed pliers
Chain-nosed pliers
Wire cutters
Nylon-nosed pliers
