Serenity Ceramic, Wire, & Stone Necklace

Tammy Powley
After getting some ceramic components from Melanie at Earthenwood Studio, I was reminded of the movie Serenity. The result is a necklace that has an industrial-futuristic feel to it.

You'll need:

1 Ceramic grey "machinery" component
2 Ceramic grey "screwed link" components
1 - 15mmx8mm hematite teardrop bead
18 - 6mm hematite beads
6.5 feet of 24-gauge red floral wire*
6 inches of red hemp
Wire cutters
Round-nosed pliers
Nylon-nosed pliers
Chain-nosed pliers

*I picked up one pound of 24-gauge red wire in the floral section of my local craft store. It's pretty soft, and you need to be careful about the color coming off (as with any colored wire), but I think it has the right look for what I was trying to accomplish in this piece. Plus, you can't beat the two dollar price tag!
