Precious Metal Clay Jewelry DVD by Sherri Haab

Sherri Haab
Precious Metal Clay Jewelry by Sherri Haab (Creative Catalyst $32.95) is a one hour and 43 minute DVD covering the basics of creating with precious metal clay, aka PMC, such as supplies needed and techniques used, along with five jewelry projects. Some of the techniques she covers include creating molds using polymer clay, stone setting, texturing, firing with glass cabs, and appliqué. As she demonstrates techniques and completes the jewelry projects, she manages to use almost all the different PMC types of clay: PMC+, PMC3, sheet, gold, and syringe.

One aspect of this DVD that I particularly liked was that she shows how to complete the entire jewelry piece from beginning to end rather than just shows how to make the metal clay component with a brief explanation as to how to finish the rest of the jewelry piece (something I've seen in some metal clay books before). I enjoyed watching the DVD and believe it would be a good fit for anyone who wants to get started but doesn't have the time or money for an actual face-to-face workshop.

As usual, Sherri Haab does not disappoint in this wonderful DVD.
