Bohemian Bangle DVD Workshop

Sharilyn Miller
Sharilyn Miller is known for her unique use of wire as the primary medium for her jewelry designs, and in her DVD Bohemian Bangles Bracelet Workshop ($39.95 US), she delivers another detailed look into her approach to wire jewelry making. In this close to four hour long DVD, she covers all the basics about tools and wire and then goes onto demonstrate a bunch of different techniques such as coiled wire embellishments, beaded dangles, hook clasps, and zigzag wraps (naming just a few). Then she uses these combined in different ways to show how to make four specific bracelet designs.

A few things appealed to me about this DVD. First of all, while she does show you how to make specific bracelets (Spiral Bangles, Beaded Bangles, Biker-Chick Bangles, and Half-Bangles), you could really mix and match the techniques she explains to create all kinds of different designs. So you aren't limited to just the four she demonstrates.

The other point that I found interesting is that, while she does use beads, most of the workshop is very wire specific. So, yes, if you want to include beads in your wire bangle designs you can, but you can also learn to make a number of bangles that are all wire.

Along with the wire bangles, she also covers topics such as polishing, using liver of sulfur, and tumbling in a rock tumbler. You can find out more information about the Bohemian Bangles Bracelet Workshop DVD as well as her other DVDs at her web site: www.sharilynmiller.com.
