Wire Coil Eye Pin

Wire Coil Eye Pin

Tammy Powley
These instructions are for an eye pin that is about 1/2 inch long in the center between the loops and about 3/4 inch in length from end to end. Obviously, you can make it longer by just using more wire. However, it can be a little tricking doing the coil part of the wire wrapping, so I suggest starting off by making these shorter eye pins first. Then once you get the technique down, you can make them longer.

I'm using red wire to help show the technique, but again, you can use just about any size, type, or color of wire. Just make sure you use dead-soft because, again, due to the coiling.

To make these you'll need:

6 inches of 24-gauge dead-soft wire
Wire cutters
Round-nosed pliers
Chain-nosed pliers
Nylon-nosed pliers
Ruler
