Beaded Wire Hook Clasp

Beaded Wire Hook Clasp

Tammy Powley
I like to play around with findings and I wanted a way to integrate a clasp so that it takes on elements of the piece of jewelry I'm designing. This playing around lead me to figure to this beaded hook clasp, which incorporates a bead right onto the clasp. You can use any number of beads such as lampwork, crystal, stone, polymer clay, whatever fits on your wire.

To make one, you'll need:

3 inches of *20-gauge round sterling wire
Round-nosed pliers
Jeweler's files
Your choice of bead

*If you plan to use this for a fairly heavy necklace, I suggest using half-hard wire.
