Triple Loop Technique for Head Pins

Triple Loop Technique for Head Pins

Tammy Powley
If you aren't new to my site, you've probably noticed that I often use a triple loop effect on many of my designs. This works well on clasps, head pins, and other components that integrate into my jewelry. While I've sprinkled instructions for this on various projects throughout my site, I thought it might be time to dedicate some instructions just for this technique. As you'll see, it's pretty easy, and if you want, you could easily use a wire jig for this technique as well. I'm used to doing it the old fashion way, so that's what I'm going to show here.

You'll need:

Round-nosed pliers
Wire cutters
A few inches of your choice of wire
Jeweler's files
*Mylon-nosed pliers

*Nylon-nosed pliers are not essential to this technique, especially if you are using really soft wire. However, if you use 20-gauge or larger, you may want to have them handy. They help flatten and straighten the wire.
