6. There is now a flat area of the wire between the large wrapped loop and the little loop on each piece of wire. Position your thumb (or the nose of your round-nosed pliers) in the middle of this area with the small loop facing away from you.

7. Bend the wire in half at this point.

8. Repeat step 6 and 7 for the other hook.
