3. Pull the coil off the mandrel, and using chain-nosed and round-nosed pliers, make a wrapped loop one the top of the coil (the end that was not flattened with the hammer).

4. Repeat the previous steps so that you have two coils with wrapped loops at the top of each, and set these aside for now.
