1. Start by using wire cutters to cut the chain into 2 pieces that are about 3/4 inches long. The chain I used had an alternating pattern of 3 small links and 1 large link, so I had to careful to cut the two piece of wire so that they had the types of links on each piece. Depending on the chain you use, you may also need to be aware of this when cutting your chain.
