What Jewelry Skills to Teach?

Once you find a place, the next step is to determine what you want to teach. When figuring out what classes to teach, you need to think about not only what you are most knowledgeable about, but you also need to consider the materials and tools your students will need. Perhaps you are an expert in soldering, but do you have enough torches for everyone, or will you need to have students provide these? If you don’t think enough students will be open to buying a torch, then maybe you should consider teaching a very small or even private class.

My personal preference is to teach bead or basic wire classes. The reason I enjoy teaching these types of classes is because students only need a few tools. Also, within a short amount of time, students can create jewelry they can wear home from class. Some successful projects I've taught in beginning-level classes includes memory wire bracelets, Y-necklaces, and basic bead earrings.
