Solder Tip 1: Fit

By , About.com Guide

Fit - All metal surfaces must fit tightly together. This means a good deal of time should be taken when filling the metals. The solder will flow into the tiny spaces created when heating the metal, so you don’t need a large space for the solder to flow. In fact, you want the metals to have full contact. Solder should not fill the joint. This will make the connection or joint stronger.
