1. Cut your waxed linen cord so that you have one piece that is 6 feet long and one piece that is 3 feet long.

2. Fold the 6 foot long piece in half, and bring one end of the 3 foot long piece up next to it.

3. Making sure to leave about three inches of the short piece free at the top, about an inch down from the folded piece make an overhand knot. You should end up with a loop at the end of the longer piece and a tail of the shorter piece as pictured.
