Leafy Pearl Bracelet

Introduction and Materials

I’m sure many beaders out there either have some leaf beads already in your stash or you see these all the time at your local bead shop and think “I like these, but other than fringe, I’m not sure what I could do with them.” Those were my thoughts when I bought my first strand of leaf-shaped beads.

However, I was inspired to create a leaf-themed bracelet when I saw this leaf toggle clasp from Soft Flex (item number BBB-5195-5196). My leaf beads immediately sprang to mind.

You’ll need:

12 – green glass leaves, side-drilled, approx. 15mm
5 – 4 to 5mm yellow oval pearls
12 – clear AB bicone crystal beads
Approx. 12 inches of .014 beading wire
2 – 2x2mm sterling crimp beads
1 sterling grape leaf toggle clasp
Wire cutter or Soft Flex Cutter
Crimping pliers

Special Bead Note: One thing to be aware of while stringing on some leaf-shaped beads like those used in this project is that there is sometimes a top and a bottom to the beads. The ones used here are actually curved a little, so while stringing I had to be careful to make sure I was aware of this so that one side of the bracelet had all “top” side beads and the opposite side had all “bottom” side beads.

For those who can’t wait to see the finished bracelet, just select the last step in this project below and you’ll automatically go to the last page.
