Painted Paper Clay Pendant

By , About.com Guide

1 of 7

Introduction & Materials

In this project, I experiment with paint and my paper clay stamp charm to see what kinds of finishes I can use with paper clay.

Once I paint the charm, I use some beads and wire to transform it into a pendant ready to be added to some chain, a beaded necklace, or even some waxed linen cording would look nice with this finished piece.

You’ll need:

1 unfinished Asian paper clay stamp charm w/hole at top and bottom
Purple acrylic paint
Small paint brush
Sculpey glaze
Bowl of water, paper towels, waxed paper
Gold gel pen
24-gauge gold-filled soft wire, approx. 8 inches
1 – 6mm dark topaz colored AB crystal bead
1 - 7mm amethyst briolette bead
Wire cutters
Round-nosed pliers
Flat-nosed pliers
