Asian Paper Clay and Stamp Charm

By , About.com Guide

1 of 4

Introduction and Materials

One of the cool things about paper clay is that you can mold it into different shapes and also add texture to it. So, of course, paper loving crafter that I am, I immediately pulled out my rubber stamps to play and created some paper clay stamp charms. The stamps in this project are not finished as far as coloring, but I have some suggestions at the end of this project. This project is designed really to show you how you can use rubber stamps to create texture on the clay. I ended up turning these into charms, but I’m sure you can use this technique to create a number of other jewelry components.

You’ll need:

1 Asian “Harmony” rubber stamp
Paper clay
Waxed paper
Roller
Exacto-knife
Nail file
Bowl of water
Paper towels
Tooth pick
