Cut the Paper Clay

3. Firmly press the cookie cutter into the clay, and pull away any extra clay.

4. Dip your fingers into the water and then use our wet finger to help even out any rough areas on the clay star.

5. Take a chop stick to make a hole in what will be the top of the star, and then allow to dry before continuing. (It is very humid where I live, so I allowed my star to dry overnight. It may take less time depending on the climate you live in.)

6. If necessary, use a finger nail file (yes, this is the one time you can actually use this instead of a jeweler’s file!), and smooth out any rough areas around the star.
