Dealing with Rejection

Just like selling jewelry, invariably you'll have to deal with rejection when trying to locate a publisher for your book. However, let's think positively and assume that eventually, you find a publisher. Then next step is to negotiate your terms with the publisher. This includes how much money you will make for writing the book, the percentage of royalties, and deadlines required. For the most part, unless you are already on the top ten best sellers' list, the publisher will dictate much of this, but there is room for you to make a few requests.
