Jewelry Before Ready to Bead?

By , About.com Guide

1. Obviously, you must have been interested in jewelry before starting your company. How exactly were you involved with jewelry before starting Ready to Bead?

Before starting Ready to Bead, I would spend many hours a day beading. The very first thing I learned was from Ruby’s book Beading with Ruby, then I found Bead-Patterns.com and fell in love with the patterns that Sandra D. Halpenny would put up on the site and started working my way through all of her designs. I’ve yet to get them all made, but it’s still a goal. I spent a whole summer teaching my mother how to bead and that’s when I knew this wasn’t just a “craft” for me.
