In Wire Wrapping by Linda Chandler and Christine Ritchey (Interweave Press $22.95 US/$27.95 CAN), both authors take a closer look at the techniques involved with wire wrapping. After discussing tools, types of wire, and safety, they dive into 12 projects, most of which also have variation pieces included. There are lots of full-color photographs to accompany the projects, over 400, so with some patience and practice, even the beginner could probably be successful with at least some of the more basic designs.
If you are familiar with wire wrapping and have always wanted to try it or have done a little of it already, then I think this is an excellent book to work through. My only warning to those who may not know much about wire wrapping is that it can be a little tough on your hands if you don't have a fair amount of strength because you work often with half-hard wire. I tend to have hand issues myself, so I thought that was something important to mention. It has nothing to do with the book. This is just the nature of wire wrapping in general.
I was pleased to see too that while there are a lot of bangle bracelet projects and other wire wrapping staples like a wrapped cabochon, the authors managed to get a little creative and include a really nice ring project as well as some earrings and a pedant which uses patterned wire.
