Antique Heart Filigree Pin

By , About.com Guide

1 of 5

Introduction

The phrase “what’s old is new” is reversed in this pin project. I took new components and made them look old to give this pin more of an antique feel. It may not have belonged to your grandmother, but that doesn’t mean this still can’t be a special piece of jewelry for you.

You’ll need the following:

A few inches of lace
*1 lampwork heart bead
**1 brass filigree piece 1 pin back
Sewing needle and thread
***Glue gun
Scissors
Silver black
Fabric stiffener
Wax paper
Toothpick

*The lampwork bead used in this pin was made by glass artist D.D. Hess.

**The brass filigree piece for this pin came from Guyot Brothers, item number 07657.
