Fabricated Geometric Necklace

Tammy Powley
After making my Easy Cuff Bracelet, I realized I need a necklace to go with it. So, I created this Fabricated Geometric Necklace using many of the same techniques.

You’ll need:

1x1 inch 24-gauge sterling sheet
Sterling chain
8mm hematite bead
Clear AB crystal bead
3 inches 20-gauge round sterling wire
Anvil
Ball peen hammer
Raw hide hammer
Chain-nosed pliers
Round-nosed pliers
Jeweler's file
Flexible shaft with drill bit

1. First, cut a 1x1 inch piece of sterling sheet in the shape of a square.

2. File all around the square to ensure it will not cut the wearer.

3. Next, drill a hole in one corner of the square. File the hole a little using a round file.

4. Texture the piece with the ball peen hammer and anvil (just like the cuff bracelet).

5. Flatten the piece, if necessary, using the raw hide hammer on the anvil.

6. Now wrap the wire around the round nosed pliers to make a loop and insert it through the hole in the square plate.

7. Using the round nosed and flat nosed pliers, wrap the wire around itself, forming a wrapped loop.

8. Add on the hematite and crystal bead.

9. Add another wrapped loop at the end of the wire.

10. Now, just add the pendant to your chain.
