Hammered Dangle Earrings

Introduction and Materials

Using a hammer to texture metal is a very easy way to create a distressed look to your jewelry designs. It’s also fun to bang away on the metal. I took a few short cuts with these earrings, though. The circular metal component (pictured) came as is from , but then I used some 20-gauge wire and a hammer to create hammered paddle pieces to dangle from it.

You’ll need:

2 hammered circular components
6 – 1 inch pieces or round 20-gauge half-hard wire
2 gold-colored ear hooks
6 – 4mm brass jump rings
Ball peen hammer
Round-nosed pliers
Flat-nosed pliers
Anvil
