Ring Mandrel: Ive talked about this in other features. This is helpful for sizing and shaping rings. Make sure you get a metal mandrel and not a plastic one. It needs to be able to handle pounding from a raw hide hammer.
Raw Hide Hammer: This is what is used to shape the ring on the mandrel. Its also used to flatten sheets of metal. The raw hide makes the hammer soft enough so that it doesnt mark the metal.
Ballpein hammer (aka ball peen):These hammers are made of steel and have a flat side and a rounded side to the hammers head. You can find these available at metal jewelry suppliers as well as some hardware stores. They range in price and size any where from about $4 and up. Optivisor: This is used to see your work up close. It is especially handy when filing small pieces like jump rings or charms that have just been cast. Anvil: You'll want something to pound on after you have a few hammers, so a small anvil is handy.
Metal Cutters: These look like huge, heavy pair of scissors and they are used for actually cutting metal like you would use scissors to cut a piece of paper.
