Bead Core

Tammy Powley
The bead cores come in a variety of sizes starting as small as 1/8 inch. As the name implies, they are the middle part of a bead or the area right around the hole of a bead. This allows you to use metal clay to build up around this hole.

Remember that to fire these in a hot pot, you'll need to make sure you don't put more than 25 grams inside the pot when firing. It's a good idea to weigh your beads after applying the clay to the bead cores to determine how many you can fire at a time if you don't plan to use a kiln.
