Wire Coil Chain

Tammy Powley
By coiling wire around a dowel, it is possible to create all kinds of jewelry pieces. I’ve used this technique a number of times to make a variety of jewelry pieces. One example is the [link url=/library/weekly/aa070198.htm]Sterling Silver Coil Earrings project[/lilnk]. Now you can make a chain to match these earrings by using the same coiling technique.

You’ll need:

Your choice of wire [20 to 18-gauge is a good size]
Dowel
Wire cutters
Flat-nosed or chain-nosed pliers
Jewelers’ files
