Magazine Keeps It Simple

Beads aren't just popular in jewelry making. Now bead lovers are using their jewelry making skills to create home decor items. The publishers of Simply Bead magazine have picked up on this growing trend, and as a result have focused their magazine on using beads in all kinds of creative ways. In the May 2005 issue, the editors explain their goals: "One of the goals with this magazine is to present projects that are doable, wearable and affordable. Another goal is to give our readers ideas on how to show off their favorite beads throughout their home."

Jewelry makers will still find plenty of interesting (and easy) bead-related jewelry projects in each issue, but other than jewels to adorn yourself, there are a fair number of bead projects such as fan pulls and book makers. There's also a few informative articles as well.

Though the Simply Bead magazine web site lists the price of this bimonthly magazine as $19.97 US (Canada $24.97 US funds) plus a shipping charge, the issue I picked up at my bookstore had a few mailing cards attached with a price of $14.97 US plus 1.98 for postage.
