Mounting Cord Knot

Tammy Powley
As the name implies, the mounting knot is used in macrame to mount your cords onto a work area before you start knotting away. You'll need at least two cords to do this knot. You can use any type of cording materials such as hemp, rat tail, and waxed linen. You'll also want a work surface such as a bulletin board and a few pins to help secure the stationary cord.
