There are a number of different methods for making illusion necklaces. I’ve used crimp beads myself to make bead stations, and though I thought the result was okay, I have to say that I’ve been won over by Beadshop’s method. Instead of crimping each station of beads on the beading wire or trying to glue the beads onto the wire (another method I’ve seen), they wrap the beading wire (a thin .010mm size) around each bead. Again, nothing new, but when teamed up with multiple strands of beautiful garnet teardrop-shaped beads, this technique makes a lot of sense.
Another impressive technique demonstrated in this CD class is how the ends of the eight strands of beads are finished off. Multiple strands can be tricky, and if you aren’t careful, they look downright messy. However, this CD offers a trick for removing some of the extra strands of beading wire that might normally create an untidy finish to your piece.
