First, Joan discusses the supplies and materials needed and explains their use. Then it's onto knotting, and this is where I was wondering how she would manage because the nylon that she normally knots with is pretty thin. Her strategy, though, works pretty well. She demonstrates the knots on a white background, first using the normal thin cord, and then she repeat this using super large cord. Both are viewed up close, but I liked how she went back and forth between the two: first you would see how it would actually look (with the thinner cord) and then you could see more details of how the knots should look (with the thicker cord).
If you have never done macrame or done very little of it, then is DVD a good way to get a virtual one-on-one.
