Resin Cab Mold

Tammy Powley
I purchased my resin cab mold at my local craft store. The brand name is Castin' Craft EasyCast Resin Jewelry Molds, and it has 11 shapes. It cost less than five dollars.

If you plan to fill all 11 mold shapes with resin, then spray the entire mold with mold release. I planned to only fill about a third of the shapes, so I covered part of the mold with paper towels when spraying the mold release and left them there while it dried. That way, I could remember when I returned which shapes had been prepped for the resin.

Make sure the release is dry before starting the next steps. Normally, I will prepare my molds well in advance, at least a few hours to be totally sure. However, I live in a very humid climate, and anything takes longer to dry down here.
