You will need the following:
Approx. 16 inches of medium link chain
3 piece of beach glass with drilled holes (1 each of yellow, blue, and red)
3 clear, pressed glass beads
Approx. 10 inches of 20 gauge round wire
Choice of clasp
Wire cutters
Round-nosed pliers
Flat-nosed pliers
1. First, determine in what order you want your glass pieces to be in. I did this by deciding to have the longest piece in the middle, and the smaller pieces of glass on either side.
2. Cut about 3 inches of wire, and create a wrapped loop through the hole in the glass piece that will go in the center of your necklace.
3. Slide one glass bead onto the unfinished end of the wire of the piece in the step above.
4. Locate the middle link in your chain, and connect your center piece of glass onto this link again using the wrapped loop technique.
5. Repeat these steps for the other two pieces of glass, adding these pieces on either side of your middle piece. (I wanted mine fairly close together, so I only have one link in between each piece of glass.)
6. Attach your choice of clasp onto the ends of your chain.
This is a very basic design. It is really just a place to start. I could imagine a lot more added to it. Even just the addition of more glass pieces, instead of just three, would look great too.
