Wire Guardians and Crimp Covers

Finishing the ends of beaded jewelry pieces, such as necklaces and bracelets, tends to be an issue for many jewelry makers who enjoy bead stringing. When you finish off a piece, you want to be aware of aesthetics and also durability. In other words, it must look good and wear well. These are the elements that make up a professionally finished piece of jewelry.

There is a fair amount of debate on what a professional finish includes, and while this article isn’t designed to necessarily take on this issue, it does give you some options, especially if you enjoy stringing on beading wire. Lots of folks love beading wire for its strength and flexibility, but when finished with a plain crimp bead, the look isn’t always that great.

To help with this aesthetic dilemma, Beadalon has come up with a few products that give jewelry makers another way to finish off their strung jewelry pieces: crimp bead covers (pictured left) and wire guardians (pictured right). The first helps to hide the crimp bead (pictured center) and make it look more like an actual bead, and the wire guardians help to hide the wire.
