Braided Fiber and Silver Lariat

Braided Fiber and Silver Lariat

Tammy Powley
I have seen all kinds of beaded lariat designs, but I wanted to create a different look. So, I started by playing around with fiber. I realized I needed some sort of focal point for the piece also. That’s where the silver came in. I used the same techniques as in my Fabricated Geometric Necklace to create the silver center piece. I accented the silver piece with a bead from Peru and completed the lariat with waxed cord.

To make one, you’ll need:

1 Geometric Silver piece
3 inches of 20-gauge silver wire
1 -6mm Peru bead
3 yards of waxed linen cord
Clip board
Scissors
Twist ties or rubber bands
Clothes pin or hemostats
Wire cutters
Chain-nosed pliers
Round-nosed pliers
