Introduction and Materials

This design has a mixed-media flare because it combines an assortment of jewelry items including brass chain, ribbon, crystals, gemstones, wire and a brass key-shaped stamping. Pardon the pun, but the key to this design is the vintage key brass stamping, which works as the center piece for the necklace. I discovered this key on etsy.com, and it is almost 2 1/2 inches long.

Now, before you start stressing about where you’ll find a key charm or stamping of your own, don’t forget that many of the suppliers I’ve listed under Jewelry Supplies, such as the metal suppliers and even beading suppliers often sell charms and stampings. Keys are very popular right now, so I’m sure you can find something very similar.
