One day a I found myself in such a position. A shop owner I sold to asked if I could bring more jewelry by the following day because there was an art show in the area that coming weekend. She expected a lot of traffic. "No problem," I lied.
Then, I started freaking out. What had I agreed to? I was low on inventory and short on time. After calming down, I determined a way to organize myself so I could make a number of items quickly but still create quality jewelry. I started with Basic Bead Earrings because they would be the easiest. If you follow these steps, you can make your own "Assembly Line Earrings."
1. Select your beads. I wanted each pair of earrings to be different, so I had to make quick "design" decisions as I worked. However, I know many of my gemstone and crystal beads could be combined with almost anything and look good. Some of these include hematite stars, hematite hearts, rose quartz, leopardskin jasper, clear Czech crystals, and various colors of seed beads. If you want to make all the same kind of earrings, your selection of beads probably wont need to be that large.
2. Organize your beads. I have some of those small, table top cabinets with the little drawers found in the hardware section of stores. These are great for beads and findings. So, I just pulled out about a dozen drawers that had beads in them. You could also use small bowls and put different beads in each bowl The idea is to have all your beads out in front of you.
