Because I liked the charms so much, I didn't mind that they were plated, but this is a personal choice. I found these at my local Michael's craft store. If you would prefer real silver charms, use any web search engine for lots of suppliers who offer these for sale, but they may be slightly different than the charm pictured.

I purchased a set that included two smaller charms I used for earrings and a larger charm I used as the pendant on this necklace. They came packaged together, and while it didn't say on the package, I'm guess they are silver plated since they only cost about four dollars for all three pieces.
