Spacer Bar Dangle Earrings

By , About.com Guide

Introduction and Materials

When designing jewelry, I often like to try to use jewelry components in unconventional ways, just to make myself think outside of the box. These spacer bars used in this earring project are normally used for multiple strand strung jewelry, such as a necklace or a bracelet. However, I figured out a way to incorporate them into a pair of earrings.

You'll need:

2 - 3-holed sterling spacer bars
6 pieces of sterling chain
2 - 4mm square AB crystal beads
6 - 4mm garnet beads
2 sterling ear hooks
6 sterling head pins
5 inches of 22-gauge sterling wire
Wire cutters
Round-nosed pliers
Flat-nosed pliers
