I made this necklace as a special graduation gift for a young girl who's heading off to college. While all the components are small and delicate, like her, the combination creates a dramatic look. The scalloped-style chain also makes this design extra special. All the findings and chain are sterling.

To make this necklace, you'll need:

25 headpins
5 hematite hearts
5 hematite starts
10 4mm tanzanite crystals
20 Bali-style spacers
6 - 6mm light rose crystals
1 - 8mm light rose crystal
16 inches of scalloped chain (with 25 links in between scallop pieces of chain)
12 inches of 22 gauge wire
3 inches of link-style chain
1 heart clasp
**jeweler's file**
round-nosed pliers
wire cutters
flat-nosed pliers
nylon-nosed pliers

**As usual, file the ends of your wire smooth as you work. This is always an important step to take so that your wire does not cut the wearer of your jewelry. **
