3. Use round-nosed pliers to make a loop (unwrapped) at the top of the head pin. I also find it helpful sometimes to hold the bent part of the head pin with my round-nosed pliers in one hand, and to use flat (or also bent-nosed work well) to wrap the rest of the head pin around the nose of the pliers
