Raku and Crystal Necklace

Introduction and Supplies Needed

I really enjoy using beading wire and crimp beads to make illusion-style necklaces that have stations of beads positioned in different areas on the wire. Beading wire these days is just too pretty to cover up and has become a wonderful design element to incorporate into jewelry making.

I’ve been working on new illusion-style designs, and when I saw these Raku-style lampwork beads, this particular jewelry design finally meshed for me. The finished length, including the clasp, is about 24 inches.

Here are the supplies I used:

2 – 10mm white/pink/brown Raku lampwork beads (from D.D. Hess)
1 – 12mm white/pink/brown Raku lampwork bead (from D.D. Hess)
14 – 6mm padparadscha Swarovski crystal beads
5 – 6mm faceted smoky quartz beads
30 inches of .015 Satin Gold Color beading wire (from Beadalon) 3 gold plated scrimps and screwdriver (from Beadalon)
22 – 4mm copper daisy spacers (from Beadshop.com)
1 – 10mm gold-filled textured toggle clasp (from APAC)
4 – 2x2mm gold-filled crimp beads
Wire cutters
Ruler
