Eight ornament covers are included in her third volume of The Beadecked Ornament. These are much more ornate than her previous designs and include the use of Picot beads to help connect the beads in her designs. Again, the netting stitch is used, but built upon with the addition of lots of embellishments: lots of dangles, crystal bead accents, and combining different colors. Projects range for intermediate to advanced. Each includes a list of supplies, diagrams, and written instructions. While these projects are much more advanced than her first volume of bead covers, for the experienced seed beader, her techniques will not be new. She just combines stitches most already know and have worked. I saw netting, peyote, and even a stitch that reminded me of the simple daisy chain sprinkled throughout her projects. Jansen has combined all of these to help create a rich texture of beads.

Laura is now working on her fourth and final volume of beaded ornament covers, which should be out in April/May of 2001. This last bead cover book will include a simple, enclosed pattern, new netting variations, and a lot more dangles. If you are interested in any of her first three volumes, they are availalbe through most bead shops and on her web site.
