Beaded Bead Button Earrings

Buttons are beautiful, and there’s no reason why we can’t incorporate them into our jewelry designs. These simple earrings don’t hide the button. In fact, they show it off.

You’ll need:

2 beaded beads
2 pieces of wire approx. 4 inches long each (20-34 gage)
2 buttons
2 ear hooks
2 4mm beads (I used onyx.)
wire cutters
round nosed pliers
flat/bent nosed pliers

1. Insert wire through one of the holes in a button, and bend approx. 1 inch of wire across the front of the button.

2. Wrap the 1 inch wire around the longer wire. If you want your button to be able to move a little, keep the wire around the button loose. If you want it to stay in place, make the wire tighter around the button.

3. Next, slip on a 4mm bead, beaded bead, and another 4mm bead.

4. Use round nosed pliers to make a loop on the other end of the wire.

5. Wrap the wire around itself to finish the loop.

6. Add an ear hook.

7. Repeat steps 1 - 6 to complete your second earring.

You can adapt this basic design to use the supplies you have on hand. I like adding the beaded bead because I think it dresses these simple button earrings up a little.
