Im not against buying pre-made jewelry components to include in my jewelry designs. However, its really nice to be able to make your own whenever possible. This is one design I created after doodling with a pen and paper.
Youll need:
about 6 inches of your choice of wire (22-18 gage if silver)
wire cutters
round nosed pliers
flat/bent nosed pliers
jewelers files
1. First, position the thickest part of the nose of your round nosed pliers in the middle of the wire.
2. Bend the wire in half while holding it with the pliers. Youll now have to ends of the wire to work with.

6. Now use the middle part of your round nosed pliers to make the fourth loop.

8. While still keeping the round nose inside the loop, use flat/bent nosed pliers to wrap the excess wire around itself to close up the loop.

This design could easily be created on a jig by just positioning five pegs on your jig. Theres about 1 inch distance between the large, middle loop and the second loop created. So, keep this in mind if you plan to use a jig.
This component has an elegant look alone, but it you could also dangle beads from the loops to create a different look or to bring in more color into your design.
