Ribbon Amulet - Connecting the Strap

You need to make a strap long enough for the average person to bring over their head. I usually like a strap to be around 26 - 30 inches. You will need the same supplies you used for the embellishments since you want them to match the strap.

1. Start by threading on a very long piece of thread (about 2 yards) because you want it to be doubled in order to provide some strength to your strap. When mine was doubled, it was still about 36 inches long.

2. Tie a knot on the end of the doubled thread.

3. Bring the needle through one end of the pouch by threading through the inside of one corner. Secure by tying and over hand knot or two.

4. Now, just string on your beads in the design you want. I used seed beads, 4mm and 6mm black onyx, and tulip shaped shell beads.

5. When you have the length that you want, repeat step 3 only on the other side of the pouch.

6. Trim off thread.

I hope you get a chance to try making this Ribbon Amulet project. With all the beautiful ribbon out there, just think of all the possibilities!
