Seed beaders are well known for beading around just about anything that doesnt move. While I have done my share of peyote and brick, I dont have the patience to bead around too many large items. So, when I found that Soft Flex had some products that allowed you to quickly bead around items made of glass, plastic, wood, or metal, I was curious. I spent some time experimenting and here are the results.

Terrifically Tacky Tape: Available in ¼ in., ½ in., and 1 in. sizes, the price range is $5 to $55 depending on the length of the roll. Basically, this works like super strong double stick tape. One side is very sticky, and the other side is peeled away to reveal another sticky side.

Treasure Beads: A mixture of seed and bugle beads in related colors, a small bag is $4.50.

At the Bead Expo Soft Flex booth, they were demonstrating all these products and had trays filled with the Treasure and Micro beads for customers to roll various items in such as ballpoint pens. They even used the plastic cover off a roll of Soft Flex to create a sparkling cuff bracelet.

At home, I decided to bead around some chopsticks to create some pretty hair jewelry and to also try beading around a bead. I tested both the tape and glue.
