Belle Armoire is a new magazine dedicated to wearable art. The premier issue is now available through their web site, or you may be lucky enough to find a copy in your local book store. (A friend of mine sent me a copy because my local book store hadn’t even heard of this new magazine.) Along with jewelry projects, the magazine also has projects and information about other forms of art that can be worn such as fabric. The first issue has six jewelry related projects which include beading and polymer clay. The magazine is full of beautiful, color photographs and includes a Salon section that showcases wearable art created by readers.
I was very pleased to see the amount of jewelry that was included in this first issue. My only criticism is that the some of the jewelry projects do not include illustrations showing how the pieces were made. However, a complete list of supplies and written step-by-step instructions are provided.
